In September, conversation assistants Emilia and Ellie started working with all of our students, from the preschoolers to Bachillerato. Let´s get to know them a little better:
Ellie – “Hi, I’m Ellie. I’m from “the sunshine state”, Florida. This is my third year as a language assistant in Spain. In my free time, I enjoy reading, singing, and walking in Retiro Park”
Emilia – «I’m Emilia, originally from New York City. I’ve been on an incredible journey for the past two years, working in Madrid as an English language assistant. Madrid’s food, culture, and people have captured my heart. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy rollerblading through the city and expressing my creativity through art. I feel inspired by this city every day»;
Both Emilia and Ellie work weekly with our students, either in small groups or with the whole class, depending on their grade. Their main goal is to give them the opportunity to apply English outside of regular lessons and exam conditions. This gives students the chance to practice their communication skills and to learn the accent, culture and colloquialisms specific, in this case, to the USA. With Ellie and Emilia our pupils get to do a wide variety of activities, that range from playing games in English to preparing for the Cambridge exams. Both of them always make sure that students have fun while they become more fluent in the English language and improve their language skills. It’s always a pleasure to have them with us!
